Blondes vs. Brunettes: Rivalry Put To Good Use
Do blondes really have more fun? We don’t know the answer to that, but the age-old rivalry between blondes and brunettes was recently put to good use, and we couldn’t be prouder of our home, Amarillo, TX.
At their annual flag football game, Bushland High School hosted Blondes vs. Brunettes, a organization that raises awareness and funds for the Amarillo Alzheimer’s Association ®.

On June 10, two teams of women--each blonde and brunette--duked it out in a fierce, but friendly, competition to help end Alzheimer’s. People donate to the team of their choice, and there are also a lot of social events days before Game Day to give people plenty of opportunity to donate.
All proceeds will go to the Amarillo Alzheimer’s Association; as of this writing, we still don’t know exactly what Bushland raised, but we can tell you that so far, all of the Blondes vs. Brunettes events have raised almost $58,000--the goal was $55,000.
Alzheimer’s Disease is a progressive mental deterioration that occurs in middle or old age. Just a few symptoms of this disease are memory loss, decreased thinking skills and an inability to carry on a conversation. Imagine never being able to recognize your family, friends, or home?
